Für mich ist diese umfassende Anthologie, die Musik von Bob Dylans legendärer erster „Rolling Thunder Tour“ 1975 auf vierzehn CDs enthält, nicht nur das beste , was ich seit Monaten/ jahren an Neuveröffentlichungen gehört habe, es ist auch ein unverzichtbares Dokument von der wohl interessatesten Tournee von Bob Dylan.
Insgesamt enthält die Box 148 Tracks, von denen mehr als hundert bislang unveröffentlicht blieben. Neben fünf professionell aufgenommenen und kompletten Bob-Dylan-Live-Sets sind die bisher unveröffentlichten Tour-Rehearsals in New Yorks S.I.R. Studios und im Seacrest Motel in Falmouth, Massachusetts in der 14-CD-Box enthalten. Zusätzlich enthalten ist ebenfalls eine Bonus Disc mit selten gespielten Songs dieser Tour. Bob Dylans „Rolling Thunder Revue“ begann im Herbst 1975 und zeichnete sich dadurch aus, dass sie mit wechselnder Beteiligung von Gastmusikern in vorwiegend kleineren und ungewöhnlichen Venues an der US-Ostküste und in Kanada Station machte. Bob Dylan „The Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1975 Live Recordings“ begleitet den von Martin Scorsese inszenierten Film „Rolling Thunder Revue A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese“, der am 12. Juni 2019 seine Premiere bei Netflix haben wird. Sämtliche in diesem Film gezeigten Bob Dylan Performances sind auch in diesem Boxed Set zu finden.
Mit dabei und für Cohen – Fans erstaunlich wie unglaublich, spätestens jetzt aber in hoher Soundqualitätz nachzuhören: Das Konzert Bob Dylans vom 4. Dezember 1975 in Montreal.
On December 4, 1975, at Canada’s Forum de Montréal, Cohen went to see the Rolling Thunder Revue. That night, Dylan introduced a new composition by saying, „Here’s a song about marriage, this is called ‚Isis‘ … This is for Leonard, if he’s still here.“ It has been written that Cohen had left the venue by this time, but Larry Sloman, in his book On the Road with Bob Dylan, wrote that after the show:
- Ratso (Sloman) rushes back to Leonard’s party and escorts them backstage, worming their way through the crowds, stepping over the huge rolls of toilet paper that were thrown from the rafters by the enthusiastic audience … Backstage, Leonard greets the troops, and everyone repairs to the hotel for a party in one of the downstairs banquet rooms.

KW-23-2019: #Rock_am_Ring_2019_After: Heute vor 1 Woche : mein letzter Rock Am Ring-2019-Gig live-fotografiert: EAGLES_OF_DEATH_METAL. 2015 traten sie schon einmal beim Rock am Ring auf. Das war ca. 1 halbes jahr vor dem Bataclan-Aattentat bei deren dortigem Auftritt in Paris.

35 Jahre Rock am Ring – 25 Jahre Rock im Park
Schon auf der Zielgeraden der diesjährigen Ausgaben von Rock am Ring und Rock im Park haben die Veranstalter den Termin sowie Vorverkaufsstart für die Jubiläumseditionen der Festivalsbekannt gegeben. Vom 5. bis 7. Juni 2020 feiern Rock am Ring (35 Jahre) und Rock im Park (25 Jahre) ihre Jubiläen.
Bereits ab Dienstag, 11. Juni 2019, 12:00 Uhr, steht den Fans ein limitiertes Frühbucherkontingent zur Verfügung.
Wie bereits in den Vorjahren, können die Besucher von Rock am Ring ihr Festivalticket sowie Camping- & Parkingticket getrennt und unabhängig voneinander erwerben. Bei Rock im Parkbleibt es bei einem Kombiticket, das alles einschließt.
Das Frühbucher-Weekend-Festivalticket bei Rock am Ring kostet 149,00 Euro inkl. VVK-Gebühr.
Der Festpreis für eine Camping- und Parkingkarte (General Camping) beträgt am Ring 50,00 Euro inkl. VVK-Gebühr.
Bei Rock im Park beträgt der Frühbucherpreis für das Kombiticket 199,00 Euro inkl. Camping, Parking und VVK-Gebühr.
