Secret Chord: Songs of Leonard Cohen Concert at The Isabel
There is an upcoming concert, Secret Chord: Songs of Leonard Cohen Concert, highlighting the work of Leonard Cohen at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts in Kingston, Ontario on Wednesday, March 13th at 6:30 PM.
The evening will feature two parts, beginning with a tribute concert that celebrates Cohen’s iconic body of work. Popular songs like Hallelujah, Suzanne, Dance Me to the End of Love, and I am Your Man will be performed by three talented musicians-Kimberley Dunn and Greg Weeks from Ottawa, the Montreal-based singer Kyle Briscoe.
Following the concert, we will transition into our second segment, which is a conversation with Gideon Zelermyer, Cantor at Montreal’s Shaar Hashomayim Synagogue, led by Mehmet Karabela. Cantor Zelermyer collaborated with Cohen on the production of “You Want it Darker,” his final album before his passing. During this portion of the event, Cantor Zelermyer will share personal anecdotes about his relationship with Cohen.
We celebrate the wonderful music of Canadian icon Leonard Cohen with Kimberley Dunn, Kyle Briscoe, and a surprise singer. Cantor Gideon Zelermyer, featured soloist on “You Want It Darker” will share his anecdotes.
