KW-10-2022: Bob Dylan startete letzte Woche seine Rough And Rowdy Ways World Tour 2022 und provozierte mit der Songauswahl „I crossed the Rubicon“, die Frage, wieviel „Politisches“ darf in einen Rock-Song interpretiert werden und welches Statement steckt bei der Wahl eines Liedes zu bestimmten Zeiten, wenn es keine konkrete Stellungnahme dazu vom performenden Künstler dazu gibt?
Bob Dylan wählte „I crossed the Rubicon“ als „neuer“ Song im Set zum Tourauftakt. Im Netz wurde diskutiert, ob Dylan diesen Song wegen der UKRAINE-Krise ausgewählt hätte. Aber hat Dylan nicht schon längst gesagt, er hätte keine „politischen Botschaften“. – Well und anyway – dies ist – trotz der schwierigen Zeiten, in denen wir leben, kein politischer Blog.

Leonard Cohens Songrechte werden verkauft
Bob Dylan tat es, Bruce Springsteen auch und nun werden auch die Songrechte von Leonard Cohen verkauft. Bob Dylan hat von der Universal Music Publishing Group für seinen Backkatalog angeblich über 300 Millionen Dollar erhalten haben. Auch die Rolling Stones, David Bowie und Neil Young tun es. Sie verkaufen Songrechte. Sony hat nun angeblich 500 Millionen Dollar für Bruce Springsteens Backkatalog gezahlt. Sony lässt gab laut Angaben von Chef Rob Stringer im letzten Halbjahr 2021 1,4 Milliarden Dollar für den Katalogeinkauf aus. Jetzt kauft Sony auch den Backkatlog von Leonard Cohen, so eine Meldung vom 6. März 2022. Preis ist derzeit noch unbekannt.

Bob Dylan reportedly received over $300 million from Universal Music Publishing Group for his back catalog. The Rolling Stones, David Bowie and Neil Young do it too. They sell song rights. Sony has now reportedly paid $500 million for Bruce Springsteen’s back catalog. Sony spent $1.4 billion on catalog purchases in the last half of 2021, according to CEO Rob Stringer. Now Sony is also buying Leonard Cohen’s Backkatlog, according to a report from March 6, 2022. Price is currently unknown.
